- 8 ounces flank steak thinly sliced
- 8 ounces lo mein noodles or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup snap peas
- 3 green onions sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Cook the noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cool water. Set aside.
In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set the sauce aside.
Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and sear for 2 to 3 minutes until browned. Transfer the beef to a plate and set aside.
Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same skillet. Stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add bell pepper, carrots, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 3 to 4 minutes until just tender but still crisp.
Return the beef to the pan along with the cooked noodles. Pour the sauce over the top and toss everything together until evenly coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.
Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
